UPLC compatible mass resolution

QuanTof technology generates accurate mass, high-resolution spectra at very high data acquisition rates, so that the narrowest chromatographic or mobility peaks can be profiled without compromise in data quality.

Waters’ Tof mass spectrometers make ideal partners for fast, high-resolution separation techniques such as UltraPerformance Convergence Chromatography, UltraPerformance LC, capillary GC or ion mobility separations. Data can be recorded quickly enough to define narrow chromatographic or mobility peaks without any compromise to resolving power. The combined selectivity of the chromatographic system and the mass spectrometer is maximized, delivering cleaner spectra and more confident identifications.

Matrix tolerant dynamic range

QuanTof technology gives unsurpassed linear and in-spectrum dynamic range even in the presence of intense background signals caused by high sample complexity.

Some types of mass analyzer require gain-control or signal-attenuation techniques to cope with the high ion current generated by complex sample matrices. Unlike 3D, linear or electrostatic ion trap systems, Waters Tof mass spectrometers have no charge-capacity limitations, so the high dynamic range of the QuanTof detector can be used to maximum effect, accurately recording very intense and very weak signals regardless of overall TIC. At the same time, the QuanTof detector maintains instrument resolving power across the full dynamic range.

A low intensity peak is clearly seen in the presence of intense background ions and resolution and mass accuracy are maintained across four orders of magnitude in signal intensity, allowing lower LoDs and better characterization of complex samples.
