New Targeted Solutions for Biopharmaceuticals

Waters In-Person Seminar
Tuesday 11th June 2024

Venue: Bee House, 140 Eastern Avenue, Milton Park, Oxfordshire, OX14 4SB

Waters, Wyatt Technology and TA Instruments are delighted to invite you to an in-person interactive seminar where we will be showcasing new technological developments for the biopharmaceutical laboratory.

The packed agenda incorporates a wide range of topics, including Automation, Consumables and Instrumentation.

We will cover advances in Time of Flight (ToF) Mass Spectroscopy and how Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS and MALS) can augment your existing lab techniques.  Both these techniques are able to give you size and structural data, quickly giving you key information on a compound of interest.

TA Instruments will highlight how calorimetry, thermal analysis & rheology techniques fit into the biopharmaceutical development workflow.

We will also demonstrate how Waters are pushing column technology to improve large molecule separation, increasing sensitivity and resolution.  All this can be coupled with our Automatic Liquid Handling Robot (Andrew+), which will be on display (alongside a ZetaStar DLS detector).

Agenda

10:00 Registration and Refreshments

10:30 Welcome & Introduction
Luke Staff, Waters
10:45 Biopharmaceutical Chromatography 2024: The latest advancements in large molecule separations
Curtis Gallagher, Waters

As the biopharmaceutical sphere expands so does the necessity for accurate, reliable methods of measurement. Waters has risen to this challenge and, here, seeks to show the latest release aimed at helping you bring analyses and characterise your product on its way to market.

11:45 Unlocking the Potential of Biopharmaceuticals: Advanced Characterization with Wyatt Technology
Bassem Sabagh/Kevin Jackson, Wyatt Technology

In the ever-evolving world of biopharmaceuticals, ensuring the quality, efficacy, and safety of your products is paramount. Wyatt Technology empowers biopharma scientists with industry- leading light scattering and field-flow fractionation solutions covering rapid high throughput, laboratory analysis through to real time analysis for production. This talk introduces basic theory and applications of these techniques specifically tailored to biopharma needs.

12:45 Lunch, networking & live demonstration of the Andrew+ Liquid Handling Robot & ZetaStar DLS
13:30 Xevo G3 QTof characterization suites: A Workhorse Platform for Biotherapeutic Characterization and Attribute-based Analysis
Valeria Barattini, Waters

In this presentation we will cover the technology behind the most advanced Q-ToF system in Waters’ portfolio and its versatility in the characterization of a wide variety of biotherapeutics, including, but not exclusively, biosimilars and oligonucleotides.  We will show a comprehensive suite of integrated workflows for biotherapeutic analysis in Waters_Connect, from data acquisition to analysis and reporting, and how these are fully complaint-ready and deployable further into the drug development journey.

14:30 Navigating Biopharmaceutical Development: Analytical Solutions from Late Discovery through Scale-up
Jas Mahey, TA Instruments

The development of biopharmaceuticals, including antibodies and new modalities, combines rigorous research, selection, and optimization to create effective treatments for various diseases. In this presentation, we will delve into the critical stages of biopharmaceutical development, exploring how TA Instruments’ innovative technologies empower researchers and developers. From late discovery to candidate selection and beyond, our solutions play a pivotal role in advancing drug development. Let us uncover the tools and techniques that drive progress in this dynamic field. Throughout this presentation, we emphasize the solutions and technology for advancing drug development. Our user-friendly tools and techniques empower scientists to make informed decisions, optimize processes, and accelerate biopharma breakthroughs.
