Address the challenges of achiral separations
Simplify SFC method development challenges with Torus Columns. Designed for achiral SFC separations, Torus Columns offer a wide range of selectivity, excellent peak shape, and are suited for method transfer and method scale-up. Torus Columns are offered in both 1.7 and 5 μm chemistries in both analytical and preparative column formats.
The Torus phases are based on two-stage functionalization of ethylene bridged hybrid (BEH) particles. The initial bonding provides a hydrophilic surface that controls the retention characteristics of the sorbent. This bonding, along with mobile phase additives, minimizes unwanted surface interactions that can lead to retention and selectivity changes over time. The second step of the functionalization is responsible for the individual selectivity and peak shape characteristics of each of the Torus chemistries, resulting in a series of stationary phases with broad ranging selectivities.
Transfer normal-phase methods to SFC chiral methods
Many legacy normal-phase chiral methods have undesirable characteristics, including long run times and the use of chlorinated solvents with tetrahydrofuran (THF) or hexane, which can be expensive to purchase and dispose of. Now, your lab can easily transfer your older SFC methods to the ACQUITY UPC2 System with Trefoil Columns. With simple redevelopment, your lab can obtain new cost-effective methods using inexpensive and non-toxic compressed liquid CO2 as the primary mobile phase. Your lab can then couple those new methods to mass spectrometers to achieve more detailed information.
